Editor\u2019s note<\/em>: \u00a0Esther Wrightman<\/a> \u2014 the young mother who became the face and voice of massive, organized resistance to wind energy companies in western Ontario<\/a>. \u00a0Famous for satirizing NextEra<\/a> as \u201cNextTerror,\u201d and\u00a0triggering a lawsuit<\/a> from the offended corporation. \u00a0Esther and her family are leaving Ontario, \u201cshaking the dust off their feet\u201d as they depart.<\/p>\n

Esther and her father, Harvey Wrightman, endured the indignity of an \u201cappeal\u201d before the Ministry of the Environment\u2019s so-called Environmental Review Tribunal, which, it turns out, is basically a front for wind energy companies and the Green Energy Act. \u00a0(This is the hearing where Dr. Pierpont was deemed unqualified to testify regarding Wind Turbine Syndrome<\/a>. \u00a0In fact, virtually all of the Wrightmans\u2019 expert witnesses, including their WTS victims, were shit-canned \u2014 denied a hearing.)<\/p>\n

The Wrightmans have concluded that Ontario has become a chapter in Lewis Carroll\u2019s surreal, \u201cAlice in Wonderland.\u201d \u00a0They are leaving \u201cOntario in Wonderland\u201d for New Brunswick, Canada \u2014 a province that takes a dim view of bullshit wind energy.<\/p>\n

Esther is a poet. \u00a0I predict she will be hailed someday as one of Canada\u2019s premier poets. \u00a0Visit her website<\/a>. \u00a0Esther wrote the following lament as she has watched wind energy employees bulldoze and torch the landscape \u2014 trees, pond, fields, wildlife habitat \u2014 surrounding her home.<\/p>\n

A new \u201cSilent Spring\u201d is underway outside her window. \u00a0One that will turn into an \u201cILFN-Rich Spring\u201d once those turbines begin operating \u2014 and the wildlife altogether vanish, along with the Wrightman family.

\n..<\/span>with all the keys to the world,<\/span>
\n…<\/span>where the early days hammock<\/span> ..<\/span> hung<\/span>
\n…<\/span>forever,<\/span>
\nsnapped in half.<\/span><\/p>\n

Leave,<\/span>
\n as the yellow house<\/span>
\n dismantles \u2014 brick by<\/span>
\n brick,<\/span><\/p>\n

fence lines rip up<\/span>
\n as an old roll of fabric,<\/span><\/p>\n

ponds, bursting with every frog we know<\/span>
\n become backfilled graves,<\/span><\/p>\n

and cabooses and box cars<\/span>
\n morph into black tankers and<\/span>
\n white towers \u2014\u00a0eagles to
\n<\/span>vultures\u00a0<\/span>and
\nwild grass to
\ntiled Land<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Now, put out the flames<\/span>
\n with waves of tears, and<\/span>
\n leave.<\/span><\/p>\n
