At least a good many Danes now say this, according to Danish sources not affiliated with the wind industry. \u00a0Which is a revelation to those of us in North America and Australia who are constantly reassured by wind turbine salesmen that, “Danes have lived with turbines pin-cushioning their country for years, and they love ’em!”<\/p>\n

Bullshit! \u00a0Read the following articles. \u00a0They are clumsy translations from Danish into English\u2014translated by Google Translate, a fine tool yet far from perfect. \u00a0Imperfect, but damn good. \u00a0Good enough to understand the point of the article.<\/p>\n

The articles are from the website of\u00a0The (Danish) National Association of Infrasound<\/a>. \u00a0Wow! \u00a0I spent hours surfing the site, with Google Translate as my guide. \u00a0Impressive!<\/p>\n

Turns out Danes are pissed off about infrasound-caused illness, not just from wind turbines but all sorts of industrial and commercial sources! \u00a0That’s what the site is all about. \u00a0Reading the articles, you realize Wind Turbine Syndrome is endemic in Denmark, though not necessarily triggered by wind turbines; numerous forms of machinery cause the same illness. \u00a0(There should be nothing surprising in this, of course\u2014except, somehow, it’s\u00a0a surprise.)<\/p>\n

Although Danes are aware of ILFN Disease\u2014Infrasound\/Low Frequency Noise Disease\u2014and mad as hell about it, they don’t seem to know much about the mechanisms whereby infrasound creates disease. \u00a0That is, they don’t know much about the pathophysiology of infrasound. \u00a0This is where Pierpont’s book comes in. \u00a0Pierpont explains at least one mechanism for ILFN Disease: \u00a0via the vestibular system of the inner ear. \u00a0Dr. Alec Salt at the Washington University School of Medicine has demonstrated a role for the cochlea, as well.<\/p>\n
